FOX HILL ELEMENTARY

Welcome back Fox Hill readers! I hope you had a great summer and read some good books while you were on vacation. We are continuing to focus on choosing great books that are "just right" for us here at Fox Hill. Libraries, including our school library, are filled with books galore to encourage reading and listening skills in even the youngest children. To make the process easier for parents, North Kansas City Schools has made its library catalog, called Destiny, available to you and your children online. Simply, look under Library Catalog down below and click. When the Destiny screen opens, click on the name of your school and begin searching.

All students (1st-5th) are checking out "just right" or "good fit" books when they come to the library.  I find it exciting to watch the students searching and finding something that interests them and that they will be successful reading.  I hope that each family represented at Fox Hill will make reading a priority in the home this year.  Please feel free to use me as a resource for book suggestions that you would like to encourage your student to read.

Spring Book Fair Is Coming!!!

Mark you calendars!  The Fox Hill Book Fair will be held April 17-20 in the library.  If you would like to volunteer to help set up, take down or work a shift as cashier, please let Mrs. Roe know.  Another exciting addition to the traditional fair this year is an online option to shop for items.  This is a great way to encourage out of town grandparents, etc. to shop for birthdays or other special events no matter where they live in the U.S.
